Kiwanis Ravine Overlook is at 36th Ave West and Ohman Place, just a couple of blocks north of West Government Way. Go west on West Government Way and turn right (north) on 36th Ave W, continue for about 1 block. You will see the HHH sign on your right (east). There is plenty of street parking. map
Kiwanis Wildlife Corridor is off W. Commodore Way, just south of the Ballard Locks and Burlington Northern RR bridge. map
Kiwanis Ravine Stevens is at the north dead end of Brygger Dr. W off W. Government Way. map
While there is no access into Kiwanis Ravine itself, you can follow the "Bike Route" signs to the hidden pedestrian bridge over the RR tracks for the best sight lines to the heronry. However, in recent years the trees have grown to block the good views from this spot.

To find the pedestrian bridge:
- If you are approaching from the Locks, hunt for the street sign on W. Commodore Way marking 33rd Ave and Harley Street. Head up the hill.
- If you are approaching from W. Government Way, follow 32nd Ave as it becomes a secluded path to the bridge.
As you stand on the north end of the bridge, aim your binoculars or scope to the southwest (toward Discovery Park).
Watching the herons from the railroad footbridge isn't what it used to be. Tree foliage has grown to block much of the view that once was so rewarding. Lately, some heron watchers have been tresspassing on neighboring private property and tearing down foliage on that property to get a better view of the nesting herons. Tresspassing and property damage are against the law! Violators will be subject to prosecution. In addition, these violations reflect very badly on the Heron Habitat Helpers. Please be courteous to our neighbors! The best viewing now is on our website. Check out Heron Watching.
